Summary of the last Shaking Yoga retreat from July 2018
What an amazing last few weeks we had. I do not even know where to start. And all of this is possible because of faith, strong believe in yourself, that ‘impossible becomes possible’ and allowing the Divine Energy to run through us without resistance. Ratu is such an amazing inspiration and help for all of us.
Some time ago we set a date for the summer retreat for 27th July. It was a bit ambitious to say the least, because the roof and floor of the venue was in a bad shape due to water leaks, which did much damage after last few years of heavy rains and winds. Plus, the bathrooms and new kitchen had to be finished too. I made agreement with myself and Ratu that we will finish everything on time no matter what and how difficult it may be, and do maximum offering from our savings.
We prayed and did shaking with the intention to create an opening for the manifestation of our dream. And guess what, we had such a blessing, because for the last 3 weeks or more we had amazing weather without rain (which is very unusual for the West of Ireland). Sweet sunshine every day. This allowed us to commence the work, but the sweat was doubled! And for the last month we have been working non-stop 8 to 14 hours per day to make it happen. We had to correct so much, improve the structure of shaking hall and accommodation and get right people to help us. Ratu sent skillful carpenters, block builders and painters and we worked together in harmony. One of the carpenters even joined the shaking retreat! OSRB
Too spice things up, one of the very heavy concrete blocks fell on my foot during the work and it felt like it broke my big toe. I laughed for half an hour non-stop and then continued working for the rest of the day with ‘Big thank you’ in my heart. After all, I AM is never sick and I AM is bigger than my body. The healing PROCESS was so fast.
In the midst of all of this the Ganesh energy entered and removed all other obstacles that we had been encountering in the process.
In the end, the project has been completed to the day! Spot on! And number of people that confirmed the booking exactly corresponded to the number of beds we had ready! No less, no more! We had Lesson: Faith in loving support of Ratu never fails but we need to offer ourselves to the process completely.
Twelve people traveled to the retreat plus Karen and myself. Four of them were new to Shaking Yoga. From the first shaking session, the energy was very strong and piercing. In fact, one of the new people told me after the first shake that today was a very special ‘blood moon’. This was also the longest total Lunar Eclipse of the century! And to be honest, I did not know about it when choosing the date for the retreat. In fact the timing of the shaking session matched that of the Eclipse. Wow! There was a sense of some completion.
Next day marked the ‘installation’, unveiling and consecration of Ganesh statue as the protecting energy of the place. This was a big surprise prior to the night meditation. As I ‘accidentally’ learned today, this weekend also corresponded to the universal festivals of Guru Purnima.
The loving and supporting energy during the retreat was getting stronger and stronger with every passing moment, and in no time we blended into one buzzing body of co-operation, shaking together, cooking together, serving and cleaning together. All worked brilliantly, and the new kitchen and new shower rooms were a bonus indeed, making life much easier. In the breaks, we sang and danced. It felt like we were flavoured by the scent of Ratu Bagus Ashram in Bali.
I am so thankful to Ratu/energy, my wife and all who helped with building and running the retreat.

‘Last weekend I went to the Karuna Flame retreat hosted by Kris and Karen, I have to say I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much! The whole experience was magical from start to finish. The energy was very strong in the Taman and the shaking sessions very powerful. The two new arrivals to shaking seemed to get into the energy straight away. One lady said that she thought she was going to a ‘festival’ by the end of the weekend she was shaking up the top of the Taman wearing Ratus’ shoes, connecting with the energy and laughing away, it was incredible to see!
I would like to thank Kris for his words of wisdom which really helped me. I am astounded at the job he has done with regards to the building works and the accommodation, I can only imagine the hours of hard work gone in behind the scenes to make this project a reality.
I would like to say a special thanks to Karen too for her warmth, generosity and wonderful
nourishing food, it was delicious and so was the singing…what a beautiful, uplifting way to end the group sharing.
The highlight of the event, without a doubt was the unveiling of the Ganesh, when the cover was whipped off the statue ….it felt like there was an explosion of light, followed by an explosion of laughter from everyone – it was pure magic!
